Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world.

Job Description:

Consultation of clients and patients and provide quality sexual and Reproductive health services including family planning and treatment of sexually transmitted infection (STI).

Provide care and support to Family Based Violence survivors according to standard guideline.

Ensure quality of care in provision of different family planning method such as condom, oral and injectable contraceptives, IUD to clients on voluntary and informed choice basis.

Refer eligible women to the hospitals for tubo-ligation and survivors of FBV to appropriate centers.

Provide abortion related care services including post abortion care, counseling and on complication of unsafe abortion and provision of Emergency contraception especially to FBV survivors.

Establish and maintain close linkage with MOPH clinics and nearby hospitals for referral services.

Conduct on the job training for Midwife and counselor on RH and FBV related issues.

Prepare monthly activity report and send it to AFGA main office.

Conduct staff meeting regularly in the center to discuss the progress and resolve service related issues.

Referral of complicated cases to the appropriate health facilities.

Participate in the related training programs.

Perform any other required project related tasks assigned by CEO.

Job Requirements:

Medical Doctor.
At least three years working experience at the obstetric and gynecology.
Post graduate degree in Obstetric and gynecology is preferable.
Fluency of local language and moderate knowledge of English language.
Good Communication skills and ability to interact successfully with staff and clients.
