Job Description
BACKGROUND:
Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Government of Afghanistan is a pivotal institution vested with the power and responsibility of planning, regulating and accelerating the pace of Afghanistan’s private sector-driven economic development which will result in growth, poverty reduction, increased employment, rural wealth, stability and peace in a post-conflict nation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support of Audit Directorate in daily work
The final accounts of project spending for the entire project period
An audit report presenting the approved budget, and if variations between planned and actual expenditure have occurred, specifying these variations
Clear identification of deficits
An examination as to whether financial policy and procedures ensure smooth and efficient implementation of activities and prevent fraud
An evaluation of the financial bookkeeping systems in terms of reliability, comprehensibility and correctness of the accounting entries and the integrity of the documentation receipts and supporting documentation
An examination as to whether asset management and procedures (purchase, inventory, storage, operational use, disposal) are in line with plan and regulations to avoid misuse
An examination as to whether the national labor law and tax regulations have been observed
Background
Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MOCI) is one of many government Ministries and agencies that is responsible in promoting trade, industry, and private sector investment. Ministry has four main functions which are making laws and regulations, formulating policies and strategies, facilitating, coordinating and influence private sector development.
The Ministry also seeks to influence others working in this are – such as multilateral and bilateral partners, non-governmental and civil society, private sector businesses, and national and international trade and business organizations.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
University degree in relevant field, master degree is preferable
5 years working experience with government, International organizations and policy making organization
Good computer knowledge
Experience in leadership & management
Excellent interpersonal skills
Highly motivated skill on teamwork
Hard working and personable character
Ability to work with others, work to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple concurrent projects/activities
Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
Creativity & innovation
Excellent verbal and written English skills, fluent in Pashto/Dari
