- Teach Business practical classes based on Toolkit guidelines. Prepare and deliver lectures to students. Evaluate students’ work and assignments. Prepare classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts. Record and maintain accurate student attendance records and grades. Maintain discipline in the classroom and on school premises and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour. Create a vibrant teaching atmosphere. Undertake pastoral duties and support students on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties. Prepare students for qualifications and external examinations. Participate in departmental meetings and training events. Keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources, methods and objectives. The instructor liaises and networks with other professionals, parents and careers both informally and formally. Reviewing the current Business curriculum and /or develop the new curriculum based on the market requirement. Other tasks given by TMI authorities or by line manager.

About Turquoise Mountain:Background The Turquoise Mountain Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture (TMI) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit vocational training institute established in 2006, providing high-quality training across four schools: calligraphy & miniature painting, woodworking, ceramics, and jewellery and gem-cutting. The Institute is registered with the Afghan Ministry of Education and is also accredited with City & Guilds, a UK-based vocational training body. The Institute is funded by the Trust but is overseen by its own Board of Directors. Job Summary The Teacher will be fully responsible to teach Business and manage classes maintaining high academic standards. The duties will range from the preparation of course work, planning of classes and marking. He/she will also have to arrange any extracurricular activities, set targets for pupils, guarantee safety during lessons and report about all class-related activities to the Head of Department. The Business teacher will have 10-15 students per class and will follow the current curriculum, integrate it and innovate it if needed in dialogue with the Chief Education Officer and the Acting Director of the Institute.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Business with a specific understanding and interest in the field of arts, culture and crafts. 4 years of teaching experience. Excellent communication and pedagogical skills. Ability to teach courses on the collegiate level. Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, relate to students and facilitate learning.
