Cleaner/Cook for Legal Advice Clinic (Herat, Kandahar, Afghanistan)

PROJECT BACKGROUND – Funded by Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), The Asia Foundation (the Foundation) through the Legal Aid through Legal Education (LĀLĖ) Phase II Project supports to provide legal aid through strengthening legal education in Afghanistan. The project goal is to “Strengthen Legal Education and Legal Aid Provision and Increase Access to Justice to Improve the Rule of Law in Afghanistan”.

POSITION SUMMARY – The Asia Foundation seeks cleaner/Cook for Legal Advice Clinics that are located in the judicial compound/Courts in close coordination with Herat and Kandahar Legal Clinic. LAC aims to assist poor and marginalized population, especially women to secure access to the services they need to understand and assert their legal rights in family court and to help Herat and Kandahar Law and Sharia faculties’ students get practical skills. The Cleaner/Cook work for the Asia Foundation and is under direct supervision of LAC manager and LAC staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – The Cleaner/Cook will have the following duties and responsibilities:

To take care of LAC’s equipment and be responsible to Legal Clinic staff;
To cook food and prepare tea for LAC staff;
To clean the office, table, chair and other equipment;
To manage clients in cue and organize clients’ in/out to/from LAC;
Any other official tasks that would be offered by LAC.
