About DAI:



DAI is implementing the USAID funded Afghanistan Competitiveness of Export-Oriented Businesses Activity (ACEBA) Program. The objective of this program is to enhance capacities of Afghan exporters and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) associated with export-oriented value chains, such as carpets, marble and granite, precious stones and jewelry, textiles, and cashmere as a means of promoting sustainable economic growth and increasing employment.

Job Summary:


The ACEBA Communications and Reporting Director will review and maintain quality control over the ACEBA reporting system and structure. S/he will be responsible for maintaining program reporting deliverables and overseeing the design of program results-oriented and current data visual aids that will support programming in a manner that clearly displays ACEBA’s program results. Work will include the design of an advanced program reporting training multi module presentation which will be carried out throughout all four ACEBA regions of operations so that all regional staff become more competent and familiar with the project reporting standards and the need to focus on results-oriented data.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Objective & Duties:

• Identify and implement project’s internal and external reporting and communications with a focus on increased quality and advanced Infographics that promote ACEBA program results.

• Collaborate with relevant public relations, media and advertising firms as required.

• Regularly mine ACEBA’s MIS for beneficiary facts, figures, and other program and regional/provincial statistics.

• Oversee the design of program visual info graphics that depict program results.

• Write, design, and deliver multi module project reporting and success story seminar to all four program regions.

• Maintain comprehensive photo library.

• Compiles and edits, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to editor.

• Assists in the development of annual work plans and other documents.

• Respond to regular USAID donor data calls and liaise with regions to obtain necessary input.

• Ensures ACEBA’s story is accurately told in snapshots, highlights, through photographs, videos, and other visuals used for project reporting and positive story telling as per USAID donor wishes.

• Monitors communications usage and results, in collaboration with M&E staff

• Provide support to the technical team members in relation with the branding and marking strategies and planning for project beneficiaries, grantees and/or subcontractors, obtains all required DOC approvals from USAID.

• Completes quarterly AfghanInfo updates as required.

• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Implementation Services Director and/or COP.

• Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience

• Familiarity with various communication modes by region and gender

• Strong visual graphic design skills

• Strong presentation skills

• Strong writing skills in English and in native languages.

• Fluency in English required.


• The position is based in the Kabul main office and reports to the Senior Implementation Services Director.
