Consultant for Sustainability and Resource Mobilization (Kabul, Afghanistan)

Organization Background:

YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with the ministry of economy in Afghanistan.

YHDO believes that all children have a right to personal dignity and protection from abuse and it recognizes the special responsibility and duty of care it bears to create a safe environment for children within the projects and programs it manages and supports. The boys’ shelter project is one of the currently implementing projects in the country. The goal of the project is to improve access to justice for boy survivors and those at risk of experiencing violence and trafficking in persons in Afghanistan through the provision of protection and support services in a safe place (Shelter).

Purpose and Scope of Work:

YHDO seeks to contract national/international consultant to contribute for developing the YHDO sustainability and resource mobilization plan especially for the boy’s shelter project in Afghanistan. The consultant will work jointly with YHDO Senior Management Team (SMT) with a special focus on developing resource mobilization tools, the case for support, and establish linkages/networks with external stakeholders. The consultant will be involved in developing and carrying out sustainability programs, developing tools, and regularly collecting and reviewing performance for fundraising issues. The specific objectives of the assignment will be:

• Review and update YHDO resource mobilization plan
• Developing Strategies for Establishing Partnerships
• Developing Strategies for Resource Development
• Establish linkages with online funding platforms and tools
• Conduct mapping of funding entities for support children program
• Engages and establish linkages with private funding partners for the sustainability of shelter services
• Develop sustainability and resource mobilization promotion materials including the case for support, case studies, etc.

Key Deliverables:

• Work plan for the assignment submitted
• Resource mobilization plan developed
• Resource mobilization tools and templates developed
• Engagement with diverse funding platforms including online funding, charity foundations and private donors established
• Mapping of potential funding agencies inside/outside the country conducted
• Assignment end report submitted

Contractual Terms:

A contract will be issued for the period of two months November- December of 2020 with   18 working days during the two months’ period.

YHDO Arrangement:

The consultant activities will be directly supervised by the YHDO management team and will be reporting to the executive director/project manager.

Duty Station:

The assignment is home-based. However, YHDO can provide office space if requested.
