Defense Lawyer (Laghman, Afghanistan)

Justice for All Organization-JFAO is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental human rights organization that aims to strengthen the rule of law by increasing access to justice through the provision of free legal services (legal representation, advice, and mediation), holding legal workshops and seminars, conducting advocacy, providing legal awareness programs, distributing publications, providing paralegals in legal aid offices, and building the capacity of law and sharia students by providing legal clinics for their training. JFAO aims to seek justice for victims of human rights abuses, particularly focusing on the rights of women, children, and the indigents. JFAO, since its inception in 2008, has consistently been seeking to end violence and discrimination against women and girls in Afghan society by endeavoring to betterment the economic, political, and social status of Afghan women.

Job Summary:

JFAO seeks a full- time Defense Lawyer who work under direct supervision of Program Manager and Provincial Supervisors, will primarily be responsible for providing technical support in legal section while evolving legal services through conducting advocacy (if needed) and promoting client-oriented approaches at JFAO FGCs- Family Guidance Centers. The incumbent will also be closely collaborating with JFAO master trainer in conducting public awareness raising and paralegal trainings in five districts of the respective province.
