Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Scope of Work: The Driver of the Project Office is responsible to ensure proper preparation of vehicles prior to any trip. He is required to handle and drive the vehicle in a responsible and careful way, ensuring adherence to NAC rules and the traffic law of the country. As carriers of NAC staff and goods the driver is also required to take security considerations seriously, arriving at destinations before darkness, avoiding potential danger spots such as unused roads (mines), crowds, military convoys, etc.                                                         The Driver will report to the admin department of SRO. Responsibilities:

  • Act according to the policy and regulations of NAC. Do the related job as delegated by the Admin Officer. To take care of assigned vehicle; prepare it for field trips (ensuring sufficient vehicle maintenance prior to the trip, availability of spare tires, first-aid kits, snow-chains, etc.), maintain it during the trip (including secure parking), and clean the vehicle on completion of the trip. To report to the admin officer any accidents or malfunctions of the vehicle. To undertake long and short trips as required. To bring and take back the NAC staff before and after the office hours’ daily. To properly check oils & fuels of vehicle during the trip and when necessary, undertake smaller repairs. To know and obey traffic rules and know the special rules of NAC (e.g., avoiding military convoys, not driving after dark, avoiding potential mines (off-road driving), etc. To sign all the related documents of his trip by a related officer. To fill in the vehicle logbook properly. To be helpful to the passenger within the limit of logistics rules and NAC Security Manual. To wash the vehicle and keep clean it all the time. To report his arrival & departure from office to project site to Admin officer. To receive impress cash and pay bills for fuel and repair during the field trips. To co-operate and assist with all units/staff for the proper usage of vehicles. To actively contribute to the successful development and good reputation of the NAC. To do any other duties assigned by the Office administration department.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • At least graduate of 12th grade (Baccalaureate) is an advantage. Fluent in Pashto, Dari and English is an advantage. Holding a valid driving license is compulsory & Obligatory. Enough experience of heavy and light vehicles driving.

Work Experience:

At least 2-year related work experience in an office environment preferably as a driver.

Language requirements, if any:

  • Pashto, Dari, and English are an asset

Skills:

  • Good communication skills. Ability to work as a guard. Ability to speak both Pashto and Dari fluently. Good working morals.
