DRM and CSA Officer in Economic Empowerment Project (Kabul, Afghanistan)


Understanding the concept of DRM and Climate Smart Agriculture and enterprises from the Disaster and environmental and Natural risks mitigation points. The Position aims to support communities and enterprises through environment friendly investments (energy, water and resource efficiency) in the NRM , agribusiness and manufacturing sectors to promote safe and  sustainable technologies and practices among community  in vulnerable areas,  and support the adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture Practices and  basic operational safety norms to enterprises and communities.

The project is consisting of three outcomes:

a) Women, men and youth small-scale producers and service providers are economically empowered.

b) Climate smart food production systems and agriculture practices are in place benefitting rights holders

c) Jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities are created for young women and men

d) He/she will be able to achieve the above objective within the project timelines.                                                     

Specific responsibilities:             

Mobilize communities in line with project objectives, conduct surveys and need assessments at the target communities to identify eligible project participants Assess the effect of overall project implementation/facilitate establishment of knowledge and information sharing channel to communities and project participants Maintain good relationship with the communities, area representatives and stakeholders Provide technical inputs and support to projects related issues/activities/investments focusing on DRM and climate smart agriculture in the targeted district of Charasiab and Dehsabz in Kabul province Preparing/reviewing the technical reports/studies, action and activity plans, feasibility studies, proposed scope of works, preliminary designs, cost estimates, bidding documents and providing technical inputs to the relevant departments Supporting and leading conceptualization of DRM and Climate Smart Empowerment and supervise and support of physical and non-structural investments. Helping introduce innovative technical solutions and approaches to mitigate the Climate change affect and natural disasters at community level. Providing support to the community as expert in natural disaster affecting and CSA, through participation and development of community disaster recovery planning. Conduct dialog session with the key stakeholders in the targeted communities. Prepare venerability mapping in the targeted communities. Conduct need assessment for climate smart agriculture trainings and develop required training materials. Conduct and manage climate smart agriculture trainings to the targeted beneficiary. Conduct awareness session in the community for capacity building and awareness of them on DRM and prevention planning. Prepare DRM and climate smart agriculture activities reports and compile necessary case studies. Establish CDCs shura and DRM committees of male and female in the communities. Any other responsibilities delegating by line manager.
