ActionAid seeks to hire a few Engineers for an upcoming project to be based in () province to implement Watershed and small mitigation projects. The candidate will plan and supervise the Engineering aspect of the small mitigation projects (culvert, protection wall, irrigation channel rehabilitation, access road rehabilitation) and watershed projects to create work opportunities as well as create productive assets and contribute to disaster risk reduction. The Engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team under the Regional Manager and support the project implementation team in providing technical support (design, implementation and monitoring). All these positions are subject to the project being approved.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Gather inputs through consultation with relevant Stakeholders and community representatives to determine a technically feasible small mitigation activity.Prepare a cost-effective engineering design and BoQ with focus on maximizing work opportunity in the villageMaintain regular and ongoing communication with Community Mobilizers and CDCs at the community level.Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of work and ensure effective support of program implementation and reporting.Manage to conduct the survey (Baseline survey technical survey topographic survey etc.) in designated project sites.Check civil structure designs for various projects based on the Donor and ActionAid Draw principal.Draw and prepare site plans maps and other drawings with the help of Community Mobilizers.Conduct quality control of subprojects in terms of design estimation implementation rehabilitation and renovation.Maintain proper documentation of all projects.Conduct regular monitoring visits of project activities.Implement the mitigation projects and provide technical assistance to the community groups.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil and structural Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of English Language, ability to communicate effectively in Dari or Pashto.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MS Office.
* Past experience in supervision of engineering and construction projects for quality control.
* Knowledge hydraulic Engineering and on-farm irrigation water management practices.
