Job Description


Under the direction of the Executive Director and in coordination with subordinate staff will be responsible for implementing HTAC’s activities in project coverage area in Afghanistan.s. Oversees daily data entries and the reconciliation of checks into Quick Books (prepared by HTAC’s Accountant or Finance Officer).  Ensures that documentation supports data entry and check reconciliations. Assesses payment obligations and supervises the preparation of checks to cover vendor services and other expenses. Checks to see if quotations and expenditures submitted are in line with the prevailing market rates and of good quality. Oversees the preparation and submission of payroll (prepared by HTAC’s Accountant or Finance Officer). Working with the Managing Director and Executive Director, develops HTAC Afghanistan budget as well as individual budgets for all funded projects. Regularly oversees all line expenditures in comparison to line item budgets.  Identifies and reports excessive expenditures and trends to the Managing Director. Provides monthly financial reports for HTAC operations and for all funded projects. Prepares and maintains accounting systems and transaction records in accordance to regulations and standards for HTAC’s audit. Oversees and spot-checks accounting records (prepared by HTAC’s Accountant or Finance Officer).

Help the Afghan Children (HTAC), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization was established in 1993 in response to the horrible conditions of Afghan families she witnessed during Afghanistan’s civil war.  HTAC is registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economics as a national non-governmental organization.  HTAC is also member of ACBAR coordination body in Afghanistan

Job Requirements

  • At least B.A from a recognized university.
  • Strong English fluency in writing and speaking
  • Four years’ experience working in education Projects
  • Proven Computer skills in Word, Excel and other MS Office software, Quik books
  • Proven Administration skills
  • Ability to travel within project coverage districts & other provinces as needed
