Job Description
The Gender Support Specialist will work on gender-related aspects of the professionalization of the ANP, specifically:
Support the Senior Advisor on Gender and Human Rights, in activities related to gender in the MOI and ANP, including but not limited to: implementation of the Women in Police Roadmap (2020-2024), human resources, training and education, recruitment and sustainable retention, equal employment opportunities in conjunction with the Human, Child and Women Rights Directorate, gender-responsive police in conjunction with Family Response Units and Police Women Councils, career development and merit-based promotion system, implementation of safe complaint mechanisms for sexual harassment and abuse cases, and improvements of physical and psychological wellbeing of female employees.
Assisting the EU TAIPA advisors in meetings with local or international counterparts whenever required.
Support EU TAIPA colleagues with their work and tasks within the MOI and ANP.
Undertake any other related tasks/function as required.

Job Requirements
This position is for a NKE with local experience.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
Successful completion of university studies in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Police Sciences, Law (Humanitarian or Judicial – with emphasis on policing, law enforcement and international law), Business, Public Administration, or other relevant Subject Matter area.
Excellent communication skills and experience in working in a team.
Full working knowledge of Dari and English and excellent drafting skills.
Excellent inter-personal skills.
At least 5 years of relevant and proven fulltime professional experience relating to the implementation of gender and/or advancement of women programs.
Desirable:
Experience with gender-based violence programs.
Strong research, evaluation and analytical capabilities in legal and gender related matter.
