Job Description
Responsibilities:
Complete daily inventory transactions for all product used, linking them to the proper accounts
and maintain accurate physical inventory count of all non-expendable supplies.
• Prepare biweekly and monthly, and annual Inventory Report, as needed.
• Ensure that equipment/furniture quarterly physical inventory is carried out and updated
in the inventory database.
• Develop policies and procedures for inventory control including implementation; tracks
and monitors inventory status, supply usage and trends to ensure inventory levels are
maintained at established levels.
• Verify and receive new purchased equipment and add them to the inventory database.
• Analyze excess and obsolete inventory, develops inventory policies and procedures;
analyze inventory trends and store levels.
• Receive delivery of equipment, verify orders compare contents against GRN, serial
numbers, asset tag numbers, requisitions and purchase orders; un-boxing/unpacking,
asset tagging computers, printers and other IT equipment’s.
• Process repair orders of broken equipment and furniture.
• Support the Admin Manager in ensuring that office and residential facilities are properly
maintained.
• Allocate project equipment (except for IT equipment) to expatriate and local staff.
• Perform any other appropriate tasks that support the overall project, as assigned by the
supervisor or his/her designee.
• Maintain all inventory records/database in an organized, legible, and accurate manner.
These records should be updated regularly as new inventory is obtained or lost.
• Become familiar with USAID guidelines on allowable and unallowable expenses as they
relate to program supplies.
• Allocate project equipment (except for IT equipment) to expatriate and local staff.
• Locates and tags new capital equipment.
• Reviews and verifies equipment inventory of each department in compliance with
relevant laws
• Communicates frequently with staff, both verbally and in writing, on matters relating to
inventory records and equipment
• Quarterly physical count of all assets.
• Disposition of all expendable and non expendable assets at the end of the project to the
counterparts.
• Reconciliation of all equipment with finance department.
• Performs data processing to input information about new equipment, update changes
and create equipment lists.
• Researches files to track equipment orders.
• Makes judgments regarding classification of equipment as capital equipment.
• Organizes and maintains a network or contact staff in each department.
• Operates all standard office equipment.

Urban Health Initiative
The USAID funded Urban Health Initiative (UHI) Program’s goal is to improve health outcomes of people living in urban areas, particularly focusing on the health of women and children and other vulnerable populations. Interventions aim to increase demand, access and quality of health services. Lead by Jhpiego and implemented by a dynamic consortium of organizations, UHI is implemented in five cities in Afghanistan – Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.
Job Requirements
Diploma in Business Administration or certificate in related field, bachelors in relevant area are
preferred.
Minimum 3 years working experience asset management, stock keeping and inventory process.
Data entry skill is a plus.
Computer skills (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Previous experience with USAID funded projects would be an advantage.
Good oral and written communication skills in English and Dari and/or Pashto
