Job Description
General Function:
AKCS-A is supporting a number of projects in Kabul aimed at protecting specific neighborhoods or buildings at risk, and improving living conditions of the inhabitants, as part of a broader process of urban revitalization. Working within a team of Afghan and international professionals, under the direct supervision of the IT Manager, the Junior IT Assistant will be involved in a range of IT related tasks in support of AKCS-A’s conservation and rehabilitation activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Basic Installation, configuration, and maintenance of AKTC workstations (hardware and software). Provide IT support to AKTC staff, including basic usage of IT equipment and software. Installation of network devices (printer, scanner, copier, plotter, wireless access points, and local PABX). Undertake 6-monthly maintenance (cleaning and blowing of workstations, UPSs, printers, etc.). Assist AKTC staff in office relocation and workstations setups in AKTC main office and site offices. IT equipment hardware repairing and parts replacing (workstations, UPSs, Laptops, etc.). Keep track of IT asset inventory and managing IT stock for spare and faulty equipment. Handover all necessary IT & communication equipment to any newly recruited staff members. Perform IT helpdesk and other IT related tasks as required.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of DIT degree required (Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science will be preferred). 1-3 years’ experience in similar position with recognized institutions. CompTIA Network + and A + certifications is must. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and MS. Office package is must.
