Job Description

The teacher should be punctual and regular. She/he is expected to be in the classroom before time, so as to begin the class on time.You will be teaching Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry & Biology, Dari and Pashto to School students and to those preparing to Kankur.Besides teaching Physics & Mathematics /Chemistry & Biology you will be expected to teach subject related to Peace and Reconciliation whenever required during the working hours.Preparing weekly and daily lesson plan and submitting the same on Saturdays, delivering the classes creatively and systematically, correcting homework, supervising the growth of students in your subject.The teacher is expected to provide personal care (cura personalis) to each student. Hence, the teacher is expected to accompany at least one student and find time to gather details about the student. The narration about the student shall include the struggle/ success story of the student in learning Kankur. This narrative report shall be submitted to the coordinator/ JRS office along with the weekly lesson plan.The teacher shall submit the notebooks of the students once in a week to the coordinator and once in a fortnight to the JRS office and get attested.The teacher must prepare weekly lesson plan for the assigned topics. The lesson plan must cover the subject matter and related activities to demonstrate those skills. It should be submitted to Project Director or to his representative on Saturdays for planning and evaluation at the JRS office, and needs to be approved before taking the classes. During the monthly meeting, the teacher must report the progress, difficulties, and plans.The list of worksheets and question papers shall be intimated to the coordinator in the beginning of every month. At the end of each unit, an exam is mandatory to students. The mark list shall be handed over to the coordinator along with the weekly lesson plan on Saturdays. Preparing standard question papers and conducting tests/examinations, correcting answer sheets, assessing the students’ performance, preparing the reports, results and maintaining records.Preparing charts, posters and other teaching materials for the class.The teacher must prepare monthly report and present during the monthly staff meeting at JRS office. The report must include important events, the statistics of the students and their participation, achievements, failures and suggestions. It must be specific and reflect the general atmosphere of the month. Writing daily diary is a must.To maintain a personal diary is mandatory. The personal diary shall include the struggles/ success stories of a teacher while accompanying a student. The personal diary marks the attitudinal change/ improvement of a teacher in the teaching profession. This diary shall be submitted to the coordinator on Saturdays and get the same attested.To maintain a Student Information Diary (SIR) is mandatory. In the Student Information Diary, the teacher shall maintain a record of the students’ attendance, regularity in note book submission and overall performance of a student. The diary shall include feedback regarding their progress, the difficulties encountered, action taken and the degree of satisfaction experienced by him/her. The Student Information Diary shall be submitted to the coordinator and attested along with the weekly plan on Saturdays. The diary shall be collected and submitted to the JRS Director by the coordinator during the second week of every month.Regular and quality interaction with students and special assistance to slow learners.You are accountable for reporting to the Project Director or/and anyone who has been delegated by him/her.Any documents, study/teaching materials prepared by you or jointly with any other person during the course of your service with us, pertaining to the training activities shall become the sole property of the JRS, and you shall have no claim over the same.A students’ assessment of the teachers will be conducted once in two months. If you wish to take leave, you should inform the Project Director at least 2 days in advance.All the teachers should attend the meetings organized for regular evaluation of the program, and for sharing of experiences. Updating the Admin officer immediately regarding admissions and dismissal of students in order to keep the database records updated.

Job Requirements

Bachelor in Mathematics & Physics/ Chemistry & Biology or any other related field.2 years of teaching experience.Good Communication skills.Knowledge of English beside Dari and Pashto.
