Lead Social/Trainer (Badakhshan Baghlan Takhar, Afghanistan)


Job Description

Scope of Work The Lead Social/Trainer will have leadership for projects the Community Resilience and Livelihoods Project, which is implemented through UNOPS, He/She will be reporting to AREP’s Provincial Manager, and the Lead Social/Trainer will provide technical leadership and project oversight to all components of the projects. Works with a cooperative attitude and keeps a high standard of quality, develops a spirit of co-operation and understanding among members of the organization. Note: All recruitments are 100% contingent on funding! Job duties/responsibilities

  • Ensure all required information and documents to Community Resilience and Livelihoods Project MIS and database officer. Conducting or ensuring the conduction of awareness and relevant training sessions with the community and CDCs. Facilitating and ensuring Planning, organizing, implementation and follow-up of project activities through provincial social organizers. Ensure updating the community profile with communities are done and followed up by provincial social organizers. Ensure community beneficiary lists are completed on time and reported. Ensure facilitation of the procurements and distribution committee establishment. Informing the CDC when their fund is disbursed and arrived at the CDC Bank account. Ensuring transparency and accountability at the community level. Supporting the CDCs and its procurement sub-committees on the procurement process. Ensuring the completion of all financial and procurement documents. Make sure the confirmation and approval of all financial documents by CDC and their record in the CDC file Make sure on-time distribution and there is no problem in the process. Preparing a clear report from all steps and submitting it to the team leader. any other task Further duties will be elaborated on in the Job Description once the project proposal is evaluated successfully. Perform the activities to address the outcomes as defined in OM.

 

Background

Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Educational Program (AREP) was established in 1994 as an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization, AREP’s learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, the development and growth of the organization have been through an evolutionary process, AREP is registered with the Ministry of Economy and member of Education international, ACBER, ANCB and DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S (The International Award for Young People). AREP is working for women, youths, and children where disability is the top priority among the AREP three targeted groups in three  main  AREP  core  competencies/  technical  expertise,  a):  EDUCATION  (Formal  and  Informal education, b): CAPACITY BUILDING, Vocational Education Skills Trainings, Awareness Initiatives (Civic Education, Human Rights, Anti-Corruptions, Access to Justice, Peace Building & Conflict Resolution)  and  other training for aforementioned target groups]  &  c): COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT providing them assistance in the multi-cultural program, government and community dialog, peace building and Rehabilitation & Small Infrastructure) throughout Afghanistan.

Job Requirements

  • (Preferred) Master degree or higher in Rural Development, Management and Leadership, Social Science, Economic Development, Public Administration, etc or Equivalent) At least 7 years of experience in citizen charter projects, EZ-Kar, community development projects and relevant field Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and basic English Have experience in the citizen charter, community development projects and livelihood projects Able to manage and plan the work effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to establish working relationships with the government and non-government organizations and effective outreach and networking at the provincial level Ability to build strong lines of communication with stakeholders Experience working for Community-Driven Development projects in Afghanistan or similar environments Outgoing, confident, persuasive communicator. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing and have experience working with a diverse workforce Sound knowledge of Community Driven Development programs and quality for managing and supervising.
