Job Description
The Doctor works at mobile health team to predominantly deliver curative, preventive services to patients. She/he assumes responsibility and accountability for their practice, applying up to date knowledge and skills in caring for each patient and family. He/she works as a member of a team that includes doctor (MD), Midwife, Vaccinator, Psychosocial Counselor, Community Mobilizer and Guard. The Responsibilities of a Medical doctor are to: Provide curative services to patients according to mobile health team requirement Support the provision of primary health care within the community. To ensure proper implementation of HMIS system Counsel and educate patients, the family and community, in relevant areas of health. Obtain specialized assistance as necessary (consultation or referral) Share knowledge, skill and expertise with medical, midwifery and all professional staff concerning their job requirements. Perform limited, select administrative duties such as patient charting, recording and reporting of data, clinic and/or facility management, or coordination of specific educational programs. Participate in research, professional organization and related committees and in continuing education opportunities. Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards. Supervise and monitor all the activities of health facility. (The medical doctor who is assigned as a Team Leader of mobile health team). Identify and report immediately any problem which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to MHT supervisor. Identify and report immediately any suspected epidemic cases. Participate in weekly meeting of health facility to share information and discuss the program progress. The medical doctor is responsible to arrange weekly meeting or any meeting in case of requirement or emergencies. The medical doctor is responsible to delegate his/her responsibilities in case of absence to medical officer. Perform any other related task given by International Medical Corps, program department.
