Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Re Announced) (Kabul, Afghanistan)


Job Description

Purpose The aim of the position is to provide technical support to the humanitarian team during the design, implementation and evaluation of the program. Specific Activities    

The position will be required to undertake the following activities:

Design Need Assessment Tools for the purpose of need assessment in the field.Translate the assessment tools into the local language as per the need of the program,Train field staff on the usage of the assessment tool and data collection process including using Kobo system,Develop database for the data collection, analysis and reporting purpose,Transfer the collected data to the “Assessment Report” that would be submitted to donor. The report must be prepared with high standards including all the technical aspects of the assessment, Supervise the ongoing M&E activities taking place in the field,Make sure that the Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) report is prepared and submitted on time,Report on the humanitarian activities using “Hub Reporting” system,Manage the AHF GMS for proposal, reporting and other project requirements,Coordinate all the relevant matters with the humanitarian team at central and field level,Manage the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) at central and field level.Any other relevant activity assigned by the supervisor.

Reporting Line

The M&E Officer will be reporting to the Humanitarian Coordinator.

Background

DAARTT (Danish Assistance to Afghan Rehabilitation and Technical Training) is an NGO established in Afghanistan by the Danish People’s Aid (DPA) in 2003.

The organization is specialized in construction and has built more than 200 schools, clinics and other buildings in Afghanistan, but is also engaged in humanitarian activities, such as construction of wells for drought-hit families and distribution of non-food items and emergency cash to people in need. Activities are funded by AHF and Danish humanitarian funds. DAARTT is a member of ACBAR and of the Shelter and NFI, WASH and education clusters

Job Requirements

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Science, Development Study and other relevant fields. Master Degree would be preferred,
  • At least 5-year practical experience in similar field,
  • Excellent command of written and oral English and ability to draft reports in English.
  • Ability to understand both Pashto & Dari Languages,
  • Ability to live and travel to the field,
  • Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills,
  • Strong Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Familiarity with project development and reporting for AHF and ECHO.
