MPC Surveyor/Distributor (Herat, Afghanistan)


Job Description

Background Information – Job-specific   The MPC Surveyor/Distributor for Humanitarian Aid will be responsible for the implementation of the Herat IDPs/returnees project funded by German’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with close consultation of other partners and stakeholders.   Functional Responsibilities      

  • Conduct Rapid assessment, Market survey, Community level and Household assessment etc by using the standard and agreed tools and methodology. Under guidance of project Coordinator, develop the rapid assessment and distribution plan and make sure the plan has been executed with timely and coordinated manner. Ensure that the field data has been entered to its database on time manner, shared with the management for decision making. Ensure the genuine IDPs/ returnees and most vulnerable has been selected as beneficiaries of Cordaid based on the agreed criteria. Closely coordinate with project assessor and M&E staff for producing the distribution list. Ensure that the distribution of assistance has been conducted on agreed global timeframe of emergency response. Planning for the distribution of recommended assistance with safe environment and do not harm approach.  Produce distribution reports. Coordinate with project Coordinator for refereeing the cases to other humanitarian actors that are beyond the capacity of Cordaid. Participates in weekly meetings and daily planning meetings.
  • Assist the M&E team in conducting the Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) of each intervention.
  • Preparing weekly, and monthly plans and reports. Holding detailed beneficiary lists, including secondary data and other documents about them. Develop and maintain an organized filing system.
  • Any other duty assigned by the Project Coordinator.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferable.
  • Two- three years of experience in the field of humanitarian. Good capacity building and management skills, including human resource and financial management, communications and intercultural cooperation skills A networker, diplomatic and results oriented, with the ability to work under stressful and time bound project conditions. Flexible and capable of working in a stressful context. Good oral and written communication skills in English language. Good oral and written communication skills in Dari or Pashtun language.

  Skills:  

  • Must have knowledge of key humanitarian principal and other international laws and Sphere Standards
  • Good English language written, and oral communication skills are required.
