Responsibilities and particular assignments

General responsibilities

Good Running of the World Food Program (WFP) funded project in the province
Supervised and contribute to improve young infant and young child feeding practice in the provinces  
Good relationship with relevant internal Departments and nutrition partners (PNO, UNICEF, WFP, etc.)

 

Activities:

Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates nutrition program and WFP project operation and staff in all MHTs locations and TFUs.
Administration of a baseline KAP survey
Analysis of the KAP survey results
Carry out FGDs
Revision of the SBCC strategy and associated nutrition SBCC tools and so contributing to better programming.
Revision of existing material on nutrition promotion according to KAP survey and FGD results and national nutrition SBCC material
Provision of training sessions on SBCC material and new training material for CNTs, CHWs and health care staff.
Support and supervise the CHWs, CNTs and the staff of the targeted health facilities during the implementation of the project.
To ensure quality of implementation and timely follow-up
In charge of the supervision and evaluation of the different components of the nutrition policy/strategy from the MoPH (prevention, detection, treatment and assessment) through regular field visits to MHTs.
In charge of supervision of the community nutrition teams (CNTs) and prepare the monthly community nutrition data to PM and data entry officer.
To ensure the dissemination of SBCC key messages to health workers, patients and communities at HF and MHT level
To ensure that communicated of key messages by MHTs to women and communities through consultations and home visits.
In charge of to provide and submit narrative monthly and quarterly report to PM and senior nutrition officer.
Providing monthly plan and monthly activities report and submit to PM.
Participation in nutrition meetings at provincial level whenever requested
Participated in the implementation of the SBCC campaigns
Administration of an end line KAP survey and carried out to capture the results of the adapted SBCC strategy.
Ability to travel to remote areas of Kunar and Nangarhar

Qualifications/Requirements

At least two year of experience in nutrition services provided at field level with NGO.
Graduate of recognized medical college (MD) or other relevant degree in nutrition
Have Minimum 2 years’ experience in nutrition field with NGOs.
Strong knowledge/familiarity of the project area
Experience in the follow-up of nutrition-communication
Can fluently communicate in Pashto, Dari and English.
Good communication skill and team working capacity.
Knowledge of BPHS and EPHS.
Required Copy of professional documents
Good computer skill of MS Office.
