Procurement and Logistics Intern (Kabul, Afghanistan)


PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

The Procurement and Logistics Intern will be part of the SUN Program – Operations Department team which is committed for implementing and maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and integrity in all Mercy Corps (MC) logistics and procurement management and procedures.

The intern will be based within SUN main office in Kabul. The intern will work closely with the Procurement Officer and Logistic Officer.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement & Logistic intern will be working under overall guidance of the MCA SUN Procurement and Logistics departments and will provide assistance for Procurement and Logistical matters of the SUN Program. She will also ensure smooth running of administrative tasks of the Procurement and Logistics departments. She is responsible to set ambitious and challenging goals for herself. The overall aim of recruiting the intern is to learn the process of procurement and logistics issues of Mercy Corps SUN program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Procurement Duties:

  • To be quick learner and learn the procurement and logistics process of Mercy Corps.
  • Get a full understanding of MC procurement policies and formats.
  • Scanning and copying procurement and logistics files and documents.
  • Learn how to translate the procurement documents from Dari to English and vice versa.
  • Printing the procurement and logistics documents.
  • Learn the scanning of procurement and logistics documents.
  • Learn the filing system.
  • Learn and assist logistics department in asset tagging and tracking;
  • Any other related job assigned by supervisor.
