Project Coordinator/ Agriculture (Panjshir, Afghanistan)


Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The basic role of this position is effective project planning, coordination, and implementation of Sustaining Essential Services Delivery Project. The post holder will ensure that project activity are well understood and accepted by the target communities and local authorities that developed through proper community mobilization and also ensures that the neediest and eligible beneficiaries are selected based on the project criteria.

Reporting directly to Head of provincial Office and Head of Humanitarian Programs.

Duration: June to Feb 2022 (Eight months)

 

Direct program implementation:

Review of project documents and preparing project field plans and coordination with relevant actorsDay to day project management and reporting of any barriers to the NAC management to seek solutionStaff capacity building and support where requiredSupport to field staff on beneficiary profile survey and distribution of inputsCoordination with relevant actors for access, project objectives and reporting on achievementsMaking sure that all the project related IEC materials received and distributed/disseminated to the project beneficiariesGetting on time security advices and providing field level analysis to the managementMaking sure that the warehouses are well managed and materials are safely distributed to the project beneficiaries considering all the humanitarian principals in a dignifying mannerMaking sure that staff are well aware of selection criteria and using of KOBO toolboxProvide support to M&E Officer for proper documentation of distributed items and other activities.Conducting post distribution monitoring visits to project implementation sites.Supporting the project AAP responsible person in identifying the AAP cases and providing feedback as per the AAP guidelines and procedures.Preparation of the project final distribution lists, training database, and the project photos for project close out.Providing feedback and revising the beneficiary profile database in a timely manner.Budget management and tracking of the project budget

 

Supervision:

Motivating and supporting staff to meet the project objectives, outputs, and activities.Facilitate project and activities information at all events prepare and implement the project action plan for quality monitoring. Facilitate project and activity information at all events such as training and workshops.Staff capacity building and on-job training for the project staff.

Reports and coordination:

Coordination of the NACs activities under the agriculture project and building effective coordination and cooperation among all stakeholders.Data collection and writing of periodic weekly reports, Success stories, and other projects related data information.

Background

The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) is a member-based solidarity organization that has been working in support and solidarity with the Afghan people for more than 35 years. Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • Higher education/ bachelor of relevant field/ agriculture is preferred
  • Having Project management skills
  • Preferred working experience in implementing agriculture projects
  • Preferred those with background of emergency programming and assessment

Languages Required:

  • Local languages with fluent English

Skills Required:

  • Working in emergency teams
  • Being part of assessment team
  • Good skill of coordination and cooperation with government departments
  • Should have understanding of local norms and culture
