The incumbent works with the Project Manager or Provincial Manager. He/she provides advice and technical support for assisting UNHCR’s persons of concern (returnees, IDPs, and host communities) towards sustainable reintegration. The job requires direct contact with the target population and other stakeholder in assessing and addressing needs considering the aspects of age, gender and diversity mainstreaming. The staff member works closely with ACHRO to ensure that UNHCR’s strategic programming in Priority Area of Return and Reintegration (PARR) is implemented and reported consistently.
Duties and responsibilities:
- The PSS counselors shall operate like mobile teams and provide counseling sessions at the IDP and high return locations Conduct training sessions for PSS counselors on different topics such as main principles of counseling, communication skills, self-esteem, stress management, depression, anxiety disorder, etc. Conduct sessions by PSS counselors at different levels (individual, community, family, and group). The sessions will be conducted on regular basis for instance weekly, biweekly, or as per needs including cases referred by ACHRO or other stakeholders. Conduct MHPSS sessions in women community center, community Center, partner office, home of POCs, and other applicable places Conduct a standard follow-up call within a specified time after the first session is held, for serious depression and serious mental illness follow up is conducted daily or a couple of days, two to three times or if it is necessary to follow up will take place until the patient get to recover. Frequently talk to them on Telephone calls, allowing patients to provide real-time input, or if feasible pay a visit to the beneficiary’s location.
