Psychosocial Counselor (Badghis Helmand, Afghanistan)


1. Providing psychosocial health services in individual and group form for patients in health and nutrition  mobile team (outpatient) 2. Be active in relation giving awareness and psychological training for clients and patients. 3. Provide treatment for the group (open and closed) 4. Perform all tasks in accordance with the ethical criteria of psychosocial therapies 5. Participate in monitoring sessions with mental health focal point, midwives and if needed with community health workers. 6. Continuing teamwork with health workers, doctors and nurses in HNMTs (regular team meetings) 7. Registration all information of the patients in the book of registers and the identification of the referrals daily basis. 8. Register cases using standardized forms. 9. Writing the cases using special forms 10. Setting up public awareness groups on the community level. 11. Setting up local programs and sessions. 12. Responsibility in identifying psychosocial patients and encouraging them to be treated 13. Active participation in the development of a short-term and long-term plan for the department of mental health and demand reduction of the Ministry of Public Health 14. Provide Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly reports to the relevant department. 15. Perform other tasks which give to him by the responsible person

16. Co-ordination with doctors and other health staff in the mental health

AYSO geographically covers all 34 provinces of the country through either one or more of the above humanitarian services
