Training Coordinator (Herat, Afghanistan)


Job Description

The Training Coordinator works under direct guidance and instructions of the Project Provincial Coordinator. She is required to coordinate and conduct family planning training in West region of the country. She Ensures the integration of the project’s targets & expected outcomes throughout the training & project life cycle. Job Description:

  • Responsible for establishing & developing the projects’ training plan for West region provinces and following up the implementation of the plan accordingly. Plan, organize, coordinate & ensure timely implementation of the training and relevant activities at management and supervisory levels.  Coordinate the logistical requirements of training with admin & logistics departments. Coordinate the training at the provincial & regional levels with the relevant stakeholders and governmental & non-governmental authorities. Play a key role in the achievement of the intended results and objectives of the training in the targeted provinces. Ensure budget utilization and target achievements of training are reviewed at least once a month as per the work plan. Ensure the quality of training materials’ translation from English into Dari and Pashto languages. Prepare and submit the training report to PPHDs and AFGA.  Conduct post training follow up of trained service providers
  • Prepare weekly, bi-monthly & monthly narrative reports on the training conducted. Draft external training progress reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of technical information provided. Any other task relevant to the area of duty.

  The Training Coordinator will perform other tasks not listed in this Job Description but are reasonably associated with the position. The Training Coordinator must show initiative and complete all tasks given by her supervisor promptly and to the standard expected. The Training Coordinator must be able to work independently when asked and take initiative to solve problems without being asked. The Training Coordinator must do her job without being reminded of routine tasks or requests made by her supervisor.

Background

Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world

Job Requirements

  • Higher education in the medical field (MD, Bachelor in midwifery, etc.) At least 3 years’ experience in the RMNCAH field with government or NGOs Strong technical knowledge of the primary health care services with a specific focus on Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child health (RMNCHA) on urban health and knowing adolescent health. Well familiar with the Afghanistan health services delivery system. Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate). Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashtu Languages. MS Office proficiency. Ability to travel to various provinces of Afghanistan.
