Training Facilitator (Kabul, Afghanistan)


Job Description:

Under TIQRA II project, the upgrading program is planned to provide additional education opportunity for those PT who just finish one year or two year PT program and now the requirement is 3 year DIPLOMA for the health sector. The upgrading program will be 7 modules in total and each module will be taught by experienced teachers for one week. As per data from AAPT, there would be 25 to 30 candidates who want to continue the upgrading program. The training facilitator will lead the program from the start till end and will coordinate all relevant activities.

Overall Responsibility:

The training facilitator will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Physiotherapy Institute, and GIHS director. He/ she will be fully responsible for the proper implementation of the following activities:

2. Specific Job Responsibilities:

The position is technically supported by GIHS/Physiotherapy and financially by Handicap International NGO.

The duties and responsibilities of the Training Facilitator are as follows:

• Develop the entire PT upgrading program training schedule

• Contact with line managers/supervisors to build-up schedule for training materials.

• Ensures that the PT upgrading standardized curriculum is implemented

• Identification of relevant trainers for the detected subject (module) consider PT upgrading curriculum

• Keeping all students attendance records on a modular base

• Ensures that physiotherapy teachers are prepared for classes and clinical skills lab sessions.

• Makes sure that teachers perform best teaching skill and implementing various teaching methodologies

• Coordinate exams (midterm and final exam) through the support of physiotherapy teachers.

• Submit a copy of the required recording and filing of student’s exam results considering IHS format.

• Keeping students related documents such as profile and transcripts

• Ensures that the assigned teachers conduct the sessions according to the schedule.

• Attending internal and external meeting which relate to technical as well project aspects.

• Validating the developed training schedule and exams papers

• Coordinate the student’s clinical placement in Kabul and at the region level

• Organize the training requirements including finalization of students and training materials

• Backup, check training materials periodically.

• Ensure training programs are aligned with organization programs. • Coordinate the logistic/dormitory related issues with GIHS, PTPOEAB, and Head of PTI.

GIHS Ghazanfar Institute for Health Sciences:

Prepared for the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Afghanistan as the national community midwife curriculum for use by all organizations implementing a Community Midwife Education Program. The MoPH of Afghanistan and the Institute of Health Sciences duly acknowledges the financial support of USAID/HSSP for revising and publishing the Community Midwifery Program Curriculum and Learning Resource Package. Senior trainers, m idwives, and medical doctors from the IHS , existing Community Midwifery Education programs, donors, agencies, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) contributed to the review of these documents.

• In the event of a significant humanitarian emergency, the post-holder will be expected to work outside their normal job description; vary their working hours, and occasionally work from a different location should the need arise
