Over all scope of work:

In over all, the TSFP supervisor is responsible for management of TSFP project activities in Zabul province.  He/she is based in Zabul with frequent travel to field (HFs) for regular supervision and monitoring of the project activities to ensure smooth implementation of TSFP project, in close coordination with Nutrition officer.

 

Activities and responsibilities:

A- Specific responsibilities:

Establishing appropriate system to implement the TSFP project activities in partnership with communities and provincial health authorities
To work with cooperative attitude to keep the link and integrate the TSFP Nutrition activities with BPHS activities in accordance to the national standards at health facility, district and province level
To develop short-term implementation plans (weekly and monthly) according to project work plan.
To conduct trainings for project related staff base on project training plan, and provide on the job trainings for related staff (BPHS health facilities staff.
Conducting supervision and monitoring of the project activities and giving feedbacks, to ensure smooth implementation of TSFP project in Zabul province
To report any technical and non-technical problem within the project implementation and make logical suggestion for the improvement of the program
To attend NPC, and TSFP project related meetings in provincial level
To implement decisions made in the meeting in coordination with other departments.
To ensure regular supervision of the health facilities and health posts based on the project needs through development of supervision plans.
To collect valid activity data of the project on weekly and monthly basis to prepare monthly and quarterly reports
To coordinate the project activities with stakeholders at field level (district governors, community Shura and NGOs providing health services in the catchments area – BPHS implementers)
To assist implementation of national policies, strategies and protocols related to nutrition
To develop and maintain relation with provincial nutrition referral centers, BPHS health facilities and communities
To collect the TSFP project monthly activity reports and enter to nutrition online database
To prepare supply request base on need and contract to WFP

To do whatever related job delegated by line manager
 

Background

About Sanayee Development Organization (SDO):

Sanayee Development Organization (SDO) is an Afghan development NGO, established in 1990 in Peshawar – Pakistan, to serve Afghan refugees in that area. SDO takes its name from Hazrat Abu-ul-Majad Majdod Ibn-e-Adam, well known as Hazrat Hakeem Sanayee, (1088 – 1166 A.D), one of Afghanistan’s most outstanding poets.

In 2002, SDO expanded its services and relocated to Kabul – Afghanistan, with the mission to contribute to the emergence of a peaceful, developed and self-sustaining Afghan society through the provision of services to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in remote and underserved rural areas of Afghanistan in the sectors of Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation, Health, Education and Community Development.

Over time, SDO has established an extensive field presence and has implemented projects in 22 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces. Today, SDO continues to operate in nine provinces in the northern, western, eastern and southern regions of the country. In all its works, SDO applies a participatory, community-based approach to development, working with community-based organizations, as well as relevant sub-national government bodies.

SDO is an active member of major civil society networks at national, regional and international levels.

SDO is the BPHS implementer in three provinces and EPHS implementer in one province and looking for qualified person to be responsible for Grants/Reporting activities and its management at national level.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Graduate from a recognized medical university
At least 2 years’ relevant experience in the same field
Excellent interpersonal skills
Worked as supervisor and Monitoring in Public Health will be preferable
Have a good communication skills written and verbal in Pashto, Dari and English
