Vaccinator for mobile team (Roster) (Balkh, Afghanistan)

 The position is available contingent on award of grant by the donor

The Vaccinator works in Health Sub Center (HSCs) and mobile health teams (MHTs) predominantly deliver EPI services to women of childbearing age and children as per national EPI policy. She/he assumes responsibility and accountability for their practice, applying up to date knowledge and skills in caring for every client and family. He/she works as a member of a team that includes all health facility staff.  The Responsibilities of a Vaccinator are to: Administer EPI services to all children and woman according to EPI policy through SHCs/MHTs Manage cold chain system according to EPI protocols. Support the provision of primary health care within the community. Counsel and educate patients, the family, and community about immunization and in relevant areas of health. Share knowledge, skill, and expertise with medical, midwifery and nursing students and all professional staff concerning their job requirements. Perform limited, select administrative duties such as patient charting, recording, and reporting of data, clinic and/or facility management, or coordination of specific educational or outreach programs. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards. Identify and report immediately any problem which interferes in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to his/her immediate supervisor. Participate in weekly meeting of health facility to share information and discuss the program progress. Safeguarding policy for Staff:

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from a recognized institutes (nursing/Midwife) or 12 grade school passed. Minimum 1-2 years of working experience as vaccinator with mobile health team, or at Health facility. Able to travel to all district of Balkh province based on need with Moharram. Will be able manage vaccine section. government and/or NGOs in the field of protection/women and girls programming, social work / case management. Will be responsible to provide required report in timely manners, provide monthly EPI report. Good coordination, networking, inter-personal and relationship building skills, and diplomacy. Attitudes and aptitude aligned with the positions are essential. Good communication and liaison skills with community and all staffs. Good capacity and analysis of conflict management to provide advises to the population. Written and spoken English is a plus. To be able to propose solutions to the identified problems/challenges. Flexibility is requested regarding the working hours and the live-in community after the working hours. Preference will be given to local candidates.
