Job Description:

The specific objective of the consultancy is to develop the civic education manual focusing more on district level elections and women’s enhanced participation in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan and  orient the 34 trainers to educate community members through online mood

Conduct desk review for developing the training material for civic education program for community members
Develop training package for civic education training
Train 34 trainer to train the developed training packages to the participants
Develop the manual on civic education in two languages
Incorporate the AWN comments on the first draft
Technical advice to trainers and AWN advocacy team on civic education program
Share the work plan for submission of the Civic Education Manual

Background

About AWN:

After the United Nation Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, where a group of women from various organizations and agencies of the United Nation participated; the theory to form a network for the Afghan women’s cooperation and integration developed. With inspire from women’s movement in different part of the world; finally, in 1995 participants (women) of the conference decided to establish Afghan Women’s Network (AWN). Afghan Women’s Network is the foundation for Afghan women’s movement, which serves as a stable network for growth of those women’s organizations they are active in the country. Afghan Women’s Network has active and considerable presence in Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Kandahar, Bamyan, Paktia, Nangarhar and Kunduz, and is also active through its member in other provinces of Afghanistan. Afghan Women’s Network works as the umbrella for its member organizations. As well as projects related to issues (gender-based violence, strengthening of youths and education for girls) implement with coordination of its member. Afghan Women’s Network has over then 3500 individual members and 125 women’s organizations in its membership. Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Minimum university degree in Social Science or other relevant field;
Extensive experience (at least 5 years) experience in completing trainings for organizations;
Extensive knowledge of civil society sector;         
Extensive experience on building capacities;
Excellent inter-personal communication skills including experience of facilitation of trainings/workshops and presentation;
Proven and demonstrated broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques and systems of working with youth;
