  • Design and implementation of any type of irrigation engineering structure according to need and experiences in NRM (natural resource management) and watershed area.  Technical Survey, Cost estimation, Design, implementation of all disaster mitigation, water management and irrigation structures. Fully expert in design of irrigation engineering structure (culvert, supper passage, Intake, siphon, Aqueduct, canal), Technical Survey, Cost estimation and it implementation in site. Checking and comprehensively understanding of the hydraulic and irrigation structural calculation. Checking and comprehensively understanding of the Civil design drawings and calculation. Identification of the area for construction of necessary irrigation structures. Good verbal and written communication in Dari/Pashtu and English are required Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills, report writing skills are required. Good computer knowledge, Civil 3D, knowing Windows programs (e.g. Word and Excel), AutoCAD (3D, 2D) Related field experience in program implementation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation are essential. Preparing of action plan for implementation of infrastructure projects Develop through stakeholders’ consultative process criteria for selecting watershed area for rehabilitation, community work plans and monitoring mechanisms Organize/ facilitate participatory process through community mobilization and arrive at consensual decisions regarding selection of watershed rehabilitation. Conflict Resolution of likely disagreements which may emerge because of miscommunication or conflicting interests of interest groups, and timely address them.   Document and disseminates decisions to relevant individuals and organizations in timely manner. Provide regular technical advice to the watershed user to protect and maintain the constructed watershed masonry structure. Work in a team to develop/ update guidelines for establishing watershed management committee. Regularly monitor watershed masonry structures, collect data, document, case studies update and report achievements.  To perform any other related duties as required by the line manager.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:Education/ Training Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Work Experience More than 7 years or more experience in irrigation engineering and community watershed development field.  Professional Skills, Competencies, Values and Attitudes  Proficiency in computer software MS Office etc.
Good computer knowledge, civil 3D, knowing Windows programs, AutoCAD (3D, 2D).
Reporting writing skills
Ability to deal with difficult, often challenging work situations.
