Job Description:The National Water Affairs Regulation Authority is seeking to engage a qualified national Design and Survey Engineer to support the team in Project implementation Unit (PIU) responsible for implementing the ADB funded project of AIWRDP and overlook all activities of consultants and companies related the AIWRDP. The PIU is currently in the stage of procuring the consulting services for detailed design and Implementation support consultant. Design and preparation of tender documents is being carried out for civil works of dam and irrigation projects. Specific tasks to be undertaken by the Design and Survey Engineer include, but shall not be limited to:

Preparation of formats for quantity survey of dams, canals, irrigation projects and hydraulic structures. Ability to perform topographic surveys for check dams, canals and other hydraulic structures. Undertake quantity survey for irrigation schemes and hydraulic structures. Write detailed survey reports. Work quantities estimation. Preparation of the monthly activity reports. Any other activity assigned as needed.

Background

About CPMO-NWARA:The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) has received a USD 303 million grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to finance the Water Resources Development Investment Program (WRDIP), which consists of three Tranches. Tranche-2 of the facility will fund the rehabilitation and up-grade of the 74,300 ha Lower Kokcha Irrigation Scheme. The estimated value of the single ICB contract for the civil works is USD 70 million and the construction period is 36 months.

Job Requirements:

The candidate shall hold a 12th grade certificate and certification in engineering survey with following qualifications and experience. Fully Expert in Civil 3D software. In-depth knowledge in the subject of quantity survey. Fully expert in preparation of topographic maps, Plans, cross section and profiles using civil 3D. Estimation of the volume of the dam reservoirs using topographic maps At least 5 years’ experience in relevant field. Fully familiar with international standards of quantity survey. Reading and Speaking fluently in Pashto, Dari and English.
