Business Development Consultant (Herat, Afghanistan)


Job Description:

The consultant will support women-owned firms in business development, customer relationship management and administrative procedures, contract management and streamlining the business operations. He/she will be responsible to transfer knowledge and skills to the available and permanent staff of the Firm in a proper way to implement the change management process appropriately. In this way, the Firm will make effective use of their skills in developing a business plan, improving their customer relationship management, debug the current business operation procedures and capacitate the firm’s staff.

 

Objectives and Duties

The consultant will develop a database static/dynamic that will help the Firm in customer relationship management.
He/she will assess the current flow of business operations and propose/bring necessary changes to improve and streamline these operations.
He/she will also create different templates for business operations such as in procurement, sales, expense management, assist registration, account receivables and contracts.
He/she will develop a two-year business plan and business road map which will help the Firm move in the right direction on the right time.
He/she will be responsible for knowledge transfer and capacity building of firm’s full-time staff
He/she will help the firm’s develop concept notes for the ideas that they have for developing their business.
He/she will also help the Firm develop a marketing road map.

He/she will provide trainings on the above-mentioned topics to the staff and members of firm’s so that they could benefit from these in the long-run.

DELIVERABLES

 

Static/dynamic database with following function/facilities

All the personal details of a customer, lead or prospect including their names, email addresses, Skype addresses, ages and titles etc.
Sources of leads: Depending on the point-of-contact from where the customer got in touch with the association.
Other information like interest in other products/services that could result in a future business interaction.
Their levels of engagement; the last time they got in touch with the company or the last time they visited the company.
Assessment of business operations and streamlining plan.
Business operations templates, business management.
Two-year business plan and business road map.
Training plan, and training materials for firm’s staff.
120 hours of documented training.
Marketing roadmap.

About DAI/AVC-HVC:

The Project contributes positive and measurable impacts to the sectors and will ensure that local market actors are involved at every stage of the value chain.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Economic, Business Management, Agri-economic or Agri-business (Masters preferred).
At least 5 years of In-depth experience in business development to different audience in the field of agri-business.
Should be able to write reports and communicate fluently in English, Dari and Pashto.
Should be well-versed with MS Word, Excel, Power Point and email etc.
