Business Development Officer (Kabul, Afghanistan)


Job Description

Summary of Key Functions In close coordination with technical staff, S/ he will work closely with Business Development Advisor and Business Development officer to follow up on business development activities such as Wheelbarrow’s, business development trainings, coaching, Mentoring, TVET, Life Skill, Greenhouse, Kitchen garden, poultry and livestock beneficiaries in project sites.Key relations: Project field supervisor, Business Development Advisor, Business development officers and project beneficiaries)      Duty Locations: KabulConduct small business and marketing training for project beneficiaries.Conduct business plan training to project beneficiaries.Keep him/herself updated of labor and product market from time to time.Identify market targets and market segments to LAMP beneficiaries based on local resources.Facilitate graduated trainees/groups to establish a mechanism for access to market according to the trades and developed marketing strategy and their specific needs.Facilitate enterprises visits to the training and production centers and ensure that there is an effective exchange of knowledge that the enterprises are willing to hire and to work with the beneficiaries after the training period.Promote exchange visits among the beneficiaries, marketers and service providers.Support beneficiaries in identifying market for sale of their production and skills.Support project in conducting business mapping, community attitude, and labor market surveys.Prepare monthly action plan and share the plan and the achievement with LAMP relevant personnel.Counsel micro enterprises and economic households.Conduct regular monitoring/follow up visits to field to ensure that planned activities are running well and proper and timely support to the project beneficiaries is provided.Support and follow up wheelbarrow’s beneficiaries and increase their capacity on selling and marketing skills.Update and track income of Wheelbarrows and other beneficiaries.

Job Requirements

Core Competencies: Experience in Business development skills training such as sales and marketing. Have knowledge of beneficiary’s capacity building and deliver required trainings.

Skills and Experience:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in finance or administration. 

Work Experience: at least 2-year practical experience in business development and related activities.

Languages Skills: Dari, Pashto and English
