SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS

Contribute to development of the urban CBHC strategy with UHI Project Team and CBHC Department of MoPH
Work closely with CBHC Department at Ministry of Public Health to ensure mutual support and alignment of the project interventions with CBHC strategy
Responsible for designing all the urban Community Base Health Care (CBHC) activities and interventions under the UHI Project
Ensure all the designed CBHC activities and interventions are shared with community engagement teams in targeted cities, provincial plans developed and implemented as per the project work plan
Contribute to designing of the training packages for uCHWs with support from the training officer
Over all responsible for capacity building of field staff on CBHC intervention and support them for implementation of planned activities,
Proper follow up of CBHC activities form in all the UHI targeted cities
Regular conduct monitoring visit from CBHC intervention form in all the UHI targeted cities
Regularly attend the CBHC Task Force Meeting at Ministry of Public Health and other related meetings on monthly, quarterly and ad hoc meetings related to CBHC
Contribute for compile the monthly and quarterly reports from related to CBHC from all the targeted cities.
Contribute for preparation of supervision and monitoring tools on community base health care intervention
Contribute for developing post training evaluation tools and insuring on smote implementation
Assist the CETL in all issue of CBHC intervention
Assist the CETL in organizing the monthly meetings and be responsible for producing the minutes of the meetings.
He/she will be reporting to CETL and will technically supervise and support all the provincial staffs under community-based interventions
Assist the CELT in all matters related to the CBHC intervention of UHI project (related to the follow up of coordination and problem solving).
Any other task assigned by supervisor

KEY RELATIONS

Reports to: Community Engagement Team leader(CETL)
Collaborates with:  Urban health Initiative (UHI) partner and CARE
Actively contributes to UHI team Meetings, to ensure that the project interventions are implemented in effective and efficient manner and the project goal and objectives are met

                                                        KEY RESULT EXPECTED

Work closely with SBC advisor, CETL and UHI project and partner to roll out the project target
Follow up the implementation of all aspects of the SBC intervention
Coordinate the staff CBHC training component of the project with partners including planning and coordination of training activities
Monitor project activities of CBHC progress, identify and address any potential problems
Develop and maintain a close relationship with UHI, UHI partner and other stakeholders to further CBHC

Skills and Experience:

Deep knowledge of the community health services and Afghanistan Health System
Excellent coaching, experience of team
Having a deep knowledge of Afghan traditions and cultural norms
Ability and willingness to work at the communities
Excellent spoken /written Dari and Pushto
More than 5 years’ relevant experience on Afghanistan health system
Ability to review, supervise and monitor activity and record outcomes and learning of Community engagement intervention
English language and computer skill would be a preference.

Education and working experience

Master of Public Health, MD or 5 years working experience in Afghanistan health system and relevant position
Excellent written and verbal communication in English is required
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and deal successfully in a multi-cultural environment is required.

Languages Skills:

Fluency in spoken and written English, Dari and Pashtu is a requirement.
