Community Field Based Facilitator (Subject to Donor’s approval) (Faryab, Afghanistan)

JOB PURPOSE:

Mobilize and sensitize the target communities, inform the influential/community leaders of the agriculture and livelihood activities of the project and involve the community and local authority in all stages of project implementation.  These are 6 full-time, grant-funded Community filed based Worker positions based in Badghis and Frayab. Note: This position is subject to donor’s approval.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Participate in community mobilization/sensitization, project planning and implementation livelihood and food security component of the project.
  • In coordination with Agriculture officer, identify the most vulnerable households for seed and toolkits distribution.
  • Direct cooperation with agriculture officer in the field to conduct beneficiary selection.
  • Support the MEAL and M&E officer to verify vulnerable households in target area.
  • Making coordination with transportation and security department while travelling to the field.
  • Field coordination with head of Shura.  
  • Facilitate training on kitchen gardening, nutrition and preparation of vegetables for consumption in the household. (Small scale processing of vegetables).
  • Assist to mobilize, sensitize and seek community and local authority participation at all levels.
  • Facilitate workshop and training regarding kitchen gardening.
  • Facilitate planning and implementation of agriculture activities in the target area.

 

Other

Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards. Adhere to WV accountability standards. To be aware and prepared to implement WV Afghanistan Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs plan under the context of (Badghis & Frayab) interventions.

Required Professional Experience:

  • At least 1 years of working in the field, community mobilization and social organization

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

  • At least diploma in Agriculture, bachelor in agriculture is preferable

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Ability to write meeting minutes.
  • Good time management and scheduling skills
  • Honesty and personal integrity
  • Willingness to travel extensively to the targeted districts
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Skills in carrying out monitoring and supervision of programs at the community level
  • Communication skills and knowledge of local communities
  • Strong skills in oral and written Dari
