Job Description

Scope of work: The Community midwife / female nurse works in Mobile Psychosocial Team to predominantly provide awareness on basic health messages, GBV, human rights provide first aid service, referral to the health facilities and support Psychosocial Counsellor in identification of GBV survivor and to provide Survivor Centred Care to the survivors. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • provide awareness on basic health messages , GBV , human rights  provide first aid service , referral to the health facilities and support Psychosocial Counsellor in  identification of  GBV survivor and to provide Survivor Centred Care to the survivors Provide medical first aid support to the GBV survivor in Women Girls Spaces  WGFSs Conduct psychosocial counselling sessions with individuals and provide psychosocial support and assistance to GBV survivors. Ensure informed consent before providing medical and psychosocial assistance to GBV survivors and their children. Ensure Safe Referral of GBV survivors to the nearby health facilities and Family Protection Centre in case of need. Demonstrate and ensure highest quality of culturally sensitive GBV education in the targeted communities on Child/early marriage, Force marriage, Family Planning and other relevant topics. Provide information on available protection and GBV services and assistance to GBV survivors. Keeping records by filling GBV IMS tools, Case Intake Forms, authorization letter and consent forms and keep them confidential. Working in a team and ensure that problems are identified in the initial stages and solved those amicably.  Provide support to the Protection Officer / Trainer Officer with adequate information, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and problem solving. Attending all relevant meetings requested by supervisor relevant to the project goals. Assist in other duties requested by the supervisor.

Flexibility/adaptability: This requires the candidate to have the sufficient capacity to adapt to the IMC work methodology as well as to different work environments (office and field) that the candidate might have later during a mission. Proactively: It requires the capacity to take initiative in the development of technical and creative actions which improves results. Important Point: You will be asked to travel or can be deployed in anywhere within the program area to perform services. There may be some insecure areas where you may need to travel and perform the activity without any hesitation in coordination with security department.

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from registered midwifery/ nursing school or relevant educational institutions. Minimum 2 years of experience working with government and/or NGOs in health care provision, psychosocial counselling or GBV programs, community based programs in the fragile environment/region. Good coordination, networking, inter-personal and relationship building skills, and diplomacy. Good communication and liaison skills with community and all staffs. Good capacity and analysis of conflict management in order to provide advises to the population. Written and spoken English is a plus. To be able to propose solutions to the identified problems/challenges. Flexibility is requested regarding the working hours and the live in community after the working hours.
