Job Description

Scope of Work

  • The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for conducting community-level surveys, evaluations for affected people receiving cash transfers for food. supervise and follow-up with community, meet with the community, provide support to run the project smoothly, Uses of KOBO Toolbox for registration beneficiaries and share with the main office the beneficiary’s lists (profile survey database) for verification and approval prior to starting cash distribution, selection of beneficiary, organization and supervision of cash for affected people, provision of unconditional cash transfer (UCT) for covering food and basic non-food needs as well as keeping strong relationships with household, community elders, H/She will give daily and weekly report to the direct supervisor. The incumbent will identify agriculture needs and problems, manage project-related site distributions, conduct necessary meetings and keep track of all activities according to the project scope and plan. He/She will keep strong coordination and communication with community members and teachers, officers.  

Job duties/responsibilities

  • Conduct community surveys, household surveys, evaluations, beneficiaries profile, selection and registration process, based on the FAO selection procedures, and share the input regarding Selection of the marginal smallholder farming households’ in collaboration with local stakeholders and carried out in strict adherence to the UN Joint Operation Principles Survey in the field and select the vulnerable families according to WFP criteria Responsibly to survey the HHs in the targeted area and collecting the data from the vulnerable families Uses the KOBO system, entering of data into the system and He/ She is responsible for the following task: Provision of wheat production packages for irrigated land comprising certified wheat seed, urea and DAP fertilizers to vulnerable smallholder farmers’ households A daily visit of HH and fill related questionnaire using KOBO software Establish respectful relation with interviewees, in order to encourage them for appropriate answers; Interview the head of household and fill up pre-prepared questionnaires during field visits; AREP also adheres to strict child safeguarding principles. Ensure respect of rules and procedures; Respecting the confidentiality of interviewee and collected data Report his/her activities to the line supervisor; Help ensure factual data from the site and properly report field-related information to the relevant senior staff at the office and to the project assistants. Participate in meetings with FAO, DDAs, CDCs, and other stakeholders in the province; liaise, communicate and coordinate with donors, NGOs, and other relevant institutions in the province according to instructions from supervisor. Provision of wheat cultivation package including related technical training Organize technical training to all the direct beneficiaries on wheat cultivation in emergency contexts Sensitization of wheat cultivation package beneficiaries on protection Uses KOBO Toolbox for registration beneficiaries and share with the main office the beneficiary’s lists (profile survey database) for verification and approval prior to starting cash distribution. Provision of unconditional cash transfer (UCT) for covering food and basic non-food needs Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the weekly schedule and the project’s goals and sharing the problems, experiences and other information with the project manager/project manager.

Background

AREP is working for women, youths, children where disability is the top priority among the AREP three targeted groups in three  main  AREP  core  competencies/  technical  expertise,  a):  EDUCATION  (Formal  and  Informal education, b): CAPACITY BUILDING, Vocational Education Skills Trainings, Awareness Initiatives (Civic Education, Human Rights, Anti-Corruptions, Access to Justice, Peace Building & Conflict Resolution)  and  other training for aforementioned target groups]  &  c): COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT providing them assistance in the multi-cultural program, government and community dialog, peacebuilding and Rehabilitation & Small Infrastructure) throughout Afghanistan.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economy, BA, Computer Science, Social Science or equivalent. At least 4 years experience in a similar position. Fluent in Dari, Pashto, basic English. Have experience in KOBO Tools with smartphones. Able to manage and plan the work effectively and meet deadlines. Have experience in the survey of HHs. Ability to establish working relationships with the government and non-government organizations and effective outreach and networking at the provincial level. Ability to build strong lines of communication with stakeholders.
