Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively participate in keeping Cordaid office environment clean and neat.
  • To report any security problem immediately to the line manager.
  • To represent Cordaid in a positive way. The Guard is the public face of Cordaid. When you are on duty, please be polite, disciplined and alert.
  • Ensure secure and safe environment for the office/ guest house compound.
  • Ensure that all staff, visitors and guests can live and work safely.
  • To stay at your post at all times, with the exception of patrols.
  • Monitor office visitors and access to the compound in accordance with office policies and procedures.
  • To control the access of people and goods into the compound. Never let any person or equipment not belonging to the organization into the compound without following the line manager advise.
  • Patrol randomly or regularly building, perimeter and gates for signs of unauthorized entry or any other changes. If you notice “the absence of the normal or the presence of the abnormal” immediately report it to the line manager.
  • Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
  • Keep track of registering Cordaid visitors.
  • Properly check Cordaid Afghanistan vehicles entering the compound.
  • Able to work in day and night shifts.
  • Pro-actively participate in keeping Cordaid office/guest house environment clean and neat.
  • Do proper hand over to the next guard on duty and inform line manager before leaving office at the end of working hours.
  • Report in detail any suspicious incidents to line manager.
  • To check and ensure the proper functionality of the lights in office compound, proper functionality of office generator and to make sure it has adequate fuel.
  • Watch video cameras (CCTV) and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
  • To be aware of your surroundings, both inside and outside the compound. You are responsible for noticing and reporting any changes or potential safety and security risks to the line manager.
  • Inspect the fire extinguishers, firefighting equipment, fire alarms, and etc. related to fire, in weekly base and hand it over to the next shift duty Guards, to make sure that the check has been completed and everything is as normal. In case of any changes report it to the line manager.
  • Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
