Hygiene Promotion and Distribution Officers (2 Couples) (Kunar, Afghanistan)

Job Description

Hygiene Promoter will work for the Hygiene Promotion Component of the organization in three districts (Dara-e-Peach, Nari, and Noorgul) of Kunar Province. In addition; he/she will conduct hygiene promotion, women’s rights, GBV and COVID-19 training sessions within communities, schools, health centers, households, distribution points. Also, he/she will conduct home visits to inform and motivate families to improve their hygiene living conditions. The Hygiene Promoter is also responsible for Hygiene kits’ distribution in the mentioned project coverage area. Moreover; he/she has to prepare an activity report as well. He/she will also be responsible to directly reporting to the Project Manager and will providing health-related support to all project team members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Hygiene Promoter will be responsible to:Conduct program awareness community meetings at the beginning of the project in targeted communities.Organize community public meetings and facilitate the selection of the Committee members in district levels and support them in fulfilling their duties.The Hygiene promoters are responsible to carry out all Hygiene education trainings, WASH related KAP survey, sanitation facilities, Hygiene kit distribution.Working on holding sessions of persona, environmental hygiene education, conducting latrine survey, household survey and knowledge survey on field level and ensure that the desired goals are achieved with good quality within its due timeframe.Conduct training on women rights, GBV and COVID-19 Prevention.Hygiene promoter must spend 100% official times in the field and will train two groups per day (morning and afternoon) five days in a week.Facilitating group meetings amongst village men and women to communicate health and hygiene education.Facilitating of Community led total sanitation CLTS (as part of a team)Facilitating sanitation facilities and hygiene kit distribution on community level.Help, train and mentor WASH covered village.Help identify new areas for implementation of safe drinking facilities (hard part of WASH and oversee the activities in lens of common local effective technics (as part of a team).Help local village men and women in projects maintenanceWeekly reporting on village groups, attendance and participation.Regularly supervise the progress of sanitation latrine implementation by communities.Contributing to weekly staff meetings and regular trainings.Updating and learning new curriculumConducted WASH related surveys (knowledge, attitude practices)Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
