Objective(s): 

 

To assist and guide the proposal design and development process (both standalone and integrated projects) in close coordination with thematic leads and Technical Advisors.

 

 Expectations: 

 

Become rapidly familiar with:

 

The Save the Children Programs Strategy Outcomes and Objectives
The SCI approach to Education in Emergency, Health & Nutrition, Child Protection, Food Security & Livelihood and Gender Programmes

 

Writing/Editing /Partner Outreach:

 

Review the call for proposals, identify and disseminate key proposal requirements and instructions to members of the proposal development team
Develop and monitor proposal schedules and outlines together with respective thematic leads, TAs and Save the Children Member Offices

 

Guide the Concept Note/proposal development design sessions and orient TAs on the donor requirements for drafting different sections of proposals
Write proposal contents including management and staffing sections, resumes, and executive summaries.
Synthesize raw content from various sources into a cohesive and comprehensive narrative.
Edit and incorporate the input of Technical Advisors and other team members (including feedback from Member Office and Partners) into the proposals
Contribute to the development of the proposal budgets
Coordinate proposal inputs with consortium partners where relevant.
Review and assure the consistency of proposal narratives, log frames, workplans and other relevant annexes
Deliver quality products against a tight schedule
Ensure final submission is compliant with donor regulations and instructions in the solicitation.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience preparing proposals
Understanding of context/country of RFP.
Proven technical writing skills and track record of creating compelling, clear, and succinct documents.
Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a lead writer on technical proposals.
Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and write about complex topics.
Strong attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
Familiarity and/or expertise in M&E frameworks and methodologies preferred;

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant topical area and/or English, Communications, or a technical discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.
