PSN Focal Point (Re Announced) (Helmand Kandahar Zabul, Afghanistan)


Job Description

Assess and identify PSN (People with Specific Needs) in accordance with PSN codes and guideline at the participatory districts. Assess cases referred and fill out the Assessment Form with all information obtained during assessment and provide the required supporting documents. Coordination of project activities with relevant stakeholders in regards to identification of eligible PSN cases as per the UNHCR PSN Guideline in the project implementation sites. Conduct regular field visits to the project sites to meet the targeted PSN cases as well as assess   the PSN cases and complete the required PSN forms/documentation as per UNHCR PSN Guidelines. Collect and provide accurate data on PSN cases from the field to PSN Project Manager and and other relevant project staff members. Maintaining full confidentiality of the collected data and information related to the PSN cases gathered from the field in the targeted locations and project implementation sites. Design and implement public awareness campaigns and disseminate information on PSN cases to local residents, youth and other relevant actors as and when required. Conduct regular coordination meetings with the local authorities, relevant stakeholders and UNHCR PSN Focal Point in his/her area of work. Arrange to deliver the required assistance to the approved PSN families in accordance with the PSN Management Committee approval. Conduct follow up visits to the project sites to assess change and self-reliance in the assisted PSN cases. Properly document the findings of the follow-up visits and share updated information on the outcomes of these visits with the relevant staff members in the PSN project; Collaborate with the PSN project management team in regards to referral of the PSN ineligible cases to other social service providers in the respective localities for assistance. Perform any other relevant task as and when assigned by the PSN Project Manager.

Job Requirements

  • 14th grade with 3 years of experience or Bachelor Degree with 2 year experience. relevant experience, especially within an NGO or similar organization. Work experience at the grass root level, Community Mobilization, Community Development, and conducting surveys. Good organizational, communication, interpersonal, and team skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills. Fluency in Dari and Pashto, both written and spoken Familiar with report writing and planning Honest, proactive, and well mannered.
