Senior M&E/HMIS Officer (Kapisa, Afghanistan)


Job Description

compile, analyze and interpret health data and information received from health facilities
provide update HMIS forms for all Paktika BPHS related health facilities
conduct initial and refresher HMIS training to the health facilities staff
Ensure quality of data collected from health facilities and its reporting to the Kabul office
Provide accurate and update feedback on data collected from health facilities
Provide reliable, accurate and timely information and reports for planning and decision making purposes
Compile and submit HMIS monthly, quarterly and annual progress report
Provide feedback to all departments regarding their achievements and target and support by recommendations
Develop monthly M&E reports of the project activities, conduct supportive supervision of BPHS facilities performance
Monitor progress of project activities, analyze it and report it to line manager
Conduct supportive supervision from the OHPM provincial offices and health facilities on a monthly base
Ensure that MoPH quality assurance documents and guidelines are available at the OHPM provincial offices and all health facilities
Ensure  that health facilities staff are familiar with quality assurance document, their contents and know how to utilize these documents
Ensure implementation of quality assurance (QA) standards in all health facilities and engage in activities to transfer knowledge to all of the health facilities personnel
Assessing knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior of the provincial staff and health facilities staff
Monitor performance of the provincial offices and all health facilities according to quality assurance and NMC check lists and take corrective actions as needed
Assist in designing templates for the collection of program management data and provide necessary technical support to ensure smooth flow of data and information to provincial office
Conduct and attend in joint monitoring visits from all health facilities with OHPM MO management team, PPHD and the provincial management team
Take active participation in technical meetings and in joint meetings with OHPM MO management team, Provincial management team and PPHD/PPHCC team

Ensure update HMIS software is functional and used properly at the field offices.

OHPM is a joint mission of experienced public health specialists, trainers, volunteers and researchers who have been working in technical and managerial positions with national and international NGOs and Charity providers since more than a decade.
OPHM is committed to promote the lives of communities through provision of comprehensive and standardized health, education and development services; conducting trainings, researches, surveys and evaluations independently and/or collaboratively at local, national and international levels that would ultimately result in a sustainable well-being and self-reliance of vulnerable communities /age groups (Especially of the women of reproductive age and under five children).
 
 
OHPM selected by the MOPH and is responsible to delivering the SEHATMANDI BPHS&EPHS in PAKTIKA and KHOST, Kandahad, Helmand provinces according to established and agreed targets (for quality and coverage), and thereby contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Public Health which are to: (i) reduce maternal and newborn mortality; (ii) reduce under 5 mortality, improve child health and nutrition. SEHAT II project is funded by USAID through Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund under System Enhancement for Health Action in Transition phase-II. The project duration is 36 months starting from July 1st 2019.

Job Requirements

Graduate from a Medical University (MD Degree is essential).
At least three years of work experience in BPHS and EPHS.
Extensive experience in Data analyzing, Operating HMIS Database and Monitoring of Health Services in BPHS/EPHS.
Computer program knowledge and English language is advantages.
Good communication skill and team work capacity.
Ability to travel to Kunduz B{HS HFs
Self-motivated and be punctual
