Job Description

YHDO is looking for a Social worker who will be responsible for performing the below mentioned responsibilities. Overall Responsibility: Perform social work with shelter’s clients and public awareness activities

Prepare and perform public awareness programs and organize awareness raising workshops accordingly within community as well as related Government departments (MoLSAMD, MoJ, MoI, etc.) Design and distribute brochures, pamphlets and handouts in communities, and to training participants
Conduct a regular follow up of cases registered into the shelter by MoLSA.
Keep daily record in a confidential and safe manner
Prepare daily and monthly report for direct supervisor Counseling for clients’ family/caretakers if ever needed Conduct follow up visit to families for assessment of reintegrated child situation Assess and ensure safety and protection of boys after family/society reintegration Referral of clients to external structures if needed and agreed with YHDO management Ensure high quality of social services within overall project Perform any other tasks in line with the job description and assigned by direct supervisor

Job Requirements

University degree in social services, Social Science or psychology Experience working on human rights and access to justice related projects, ideally with children (2 years minimum) Good knowledge about children’s psychology and child protection sectorStrong reporting and presentation skillsExcellent oral and writing skills in Pashto, Dari and English language Able to provide reports on/before its due time and upon any further request by the immediate supervisor Respect of confidentiality and sense of security
