Main purpose:

The TB RSSH project aims are to increase active case finding among key affected populations and screening for high-risk groups and improve access to TB care for these key vulnerable populations.

YHDO is looking to recruit provincial focal points who will be responsible for achieving project activities in the targeted province.

Main responsibilities:

  • To assist in the preparation of TB intervention actives in order to provide better guidance for the implementation of active case finding among project activities at the provincial level.
  • Develop and maintains the appropriate network with PTC and PLS of the province and other partners.
  • Strengthen and develop joint planning, implementation, and follow-up of TB Intervention activities with PTC and PLS at the provincial level.
  • Coordinate TB Intervention project’s activities with PTC and PLS of province and other partners.
  • Strengthen recording, reporting and referral system through using standardized NTP formats.
  • Conduct necessary TB Training through close coordination with PTC and PLS of province.
  • Conduct regular joint supervision, M&E to active case finding in the provincial level.
  • Conduct regular quarterly review and planning workshops for improving TB intervention activities and creating a competitive environment towards objectives.
  • Assist the PTC and PLS of the province and other partners to prepare the relevant data analysis and reports on monthly, quarterly and annual bases.
  • To assist the TB intervention activities coordination and organizing of meeting with PTC and PLS of the province and another partner.
  • To prepare field reports (Supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation, reporting and basic refresher training) and submit to Line Manager.
  • Analyze the project reports and provide regular feedback to the line Manager on the quality and quantity of performance.
  • Performs supervisory and monitoring visit from Health Facilities at least 5-6 visits per month. 
  • Establish and maintain appropriate level of coordination in work with local TB team, MSH, BPHS, EPHS, PPHD, and others involved in health service provision including TB
  • Prepare annual plan for TB intervention area and smooth implementation of it
  • Seek the support of PTC/PLS, PPHD, BPSH-EPHS implementers, UNDP, and SR main office, when needed
  • Prepare lists of participants and their estimated costs for DOTS trainings, PQR, slide management workshop and PPM, etc.
  • Proper documentation and timely submission of financial documents to  the central office
  • Conduct supervisory visits (including joint visits) form the TB intervention areas with reports on it for sharing with main office. Timely follow up on feedback reports by any delegate (NTP, LFA, UNDP, etc.)
  • Provide logistical, administrative and technical support for planned DOTs trainings, PQRMs, slide MRM, PPM initial and refresher events, etc.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and other basic information and reports to SR main office
  • Collect all necessary documents for payment processing in timely manner
  • Attendance at all relevant meetings at the provincial level
  • Attend FP review meeting and other capacity development opportunities including the study of NTP SOPs/guidelines
  • Undertake initiative and prepare success stories related to project implementation
  • Keeping the appropriate level of documentation and record of project-related activities (soft and hard forms).
  • Balkh and Samangan and are merged, also Jawzjan and Sare Pul are merged, one-one focal will be hired for both merged provinces.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in implementation of the health-related project including BPHS and EPHS
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the implementation of TB control interventions
  • Having good technical Skills of supervision and monitoring; and gap analysis
  • Having excellent knowledge and skills of the computer with Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in local language and good knowledge of English written, reading and spoken
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to rural area
